RealBird Sweepstakes on Twitter: Social Media Experiment
Another week, another promotion. We are now experimenting with social media marketing. More specifically, we are attempting to create a viral marketing event in the form of a sweepstakes. Aside from the obvious, which is to promote our own brand, we want to be able to demonstrate to our readers and members how to utilize social media to achieve a marketing goal. We selected ActiveRain (as the viral hub) and Twitter to be the core platform for this experiment.
Twitter this message to participate
In our opinion, the four rules below are the basis for a successful social media campaign:
Rule #1 - The transaction cost for participants has to be as low as possible
Transaction cost means not only the monetary cost, but the abstract cost of efforts, time and mental resources as well. We designed this sweepstakes so that it only takes a few seconds to enter. Just click here to post the following message to Twitter and you are in.
"RealBird http://bit.ly/YSWDK is giving away a free iPod Touch #realbird1 ReTweet to enter Rules: http://bit.ly/96ge"
Rule #2 - An incentive has to be provided
Incentives do not have to be monetary in nature. They can be a reward as trivial as feeling good because of the participation, as it would be the case in charity campaigns for instance. In this particular case, the incentive is two fold: 1) the Apple iPod Touch which will be the prize for one lucky participant - this is a monetary incentive 2) the excitement of participating in something of this nature - this is a mental incentive. I suggest not to underestimate 2) either in terms of its effect.
Rule #3 -Ideally, do some good in the process
Related to Rule #2, good campaigns are those with secondary or by-product value for participants. We designed this campaign in a way that the tweet contains a link to randomly selected active RealBird listing website. So while the message will be traveling on the web, every instance of the message will link to a random RealBird listing, hence bringing exposure for a RealBird member and their property; for free.
Rule #4 - Be as transparent as possible
Transparency creates trust. Trust increases participation. We made sure that you will see as much of this campaigns internals as we do. You'll see all participants by searching Twitter for the topic #realbird1 and you will also be able to see the click-through rate, peaks and drops, viral hubs and sources through the amazing URL shortening service bit.ly.
Enough of the theory: this is the single step to take in order to participate:
Simply Twitter (or retweet) the message below. Make sure that the Twitter topic #realbird1 is presented in the message.
Enter sweepstakes: RealBird http://bit.ly/YSWDK is giving away a free iPod Touch #realbird1 ReTweet to enter Rules: http://bit.ly/96ge
Current participants: See as participants join the sweepstakes
Click-through traffic: See bit.ly stats here
Sweepstakes rules and disclaimers:
- No purchase is necessary to participate
- A participant is defined as a Twitter user, uniquely indetified by his or her Twitter username
- One prize for one randomly selected participant: an 8GB Apple iPod Touch (2nd generation)
- One entry per participant no matter how many campaign tweets are posted
- US and Canadian residents can win only (although we welcome others to retweet )
- Drawing is on April 2, 2009
- Free shipping of the free prize, no cost to the winner
- The linked, random RealBird property website may contain 3rd party advertisement. This advertisement only shows when visitors arrive through this campaign's channel and there are no advertisements on the RealBird single property websites otherwise.
- No association or business relationship is claimed by RealBird with ActiveRain, Twitter, Apple or any other party mentioned in the campaign.
- While RealBird employees and their families can Twitter the message, they can not participate in the sweepstakes and their Twitter account will be excluded from the list prior to the drawing
- Prohibited where local and state laws disallows such promotions
- The winner will be announced on this blog and we will contact him or her via email, Twitter and phone (if it is publicly available) for delivery information. If we can not reach the winner within two weeks from the drawing date, we'll conduct a new drawing.

Stats update
Rather then adding it to the comments, I decided to keep the post updated with ongoing stats and adjustment of the campaign. The "trial and fail" concept of online marketing is very powerful because usually one can adjust tactics without spending too much resource on one particular one. Much easier and cheaper to do so, than with offline marketing. We'll be adjusting the sweepstakes concept to maximize its effect on an ongoing basis.
March 10, 2009
- 62 entries & around 700 click-throughts ( to the random RealBird listing - 1st link)
That is a ~10% view/entry ratio (assuming that all views of the tweets are actual click-throughs. This is most likely not the case, but I do not have info about the tweet views, only the click-throughs. If the views are even more, which is definitly the case, than the tweet ratio is even lower) - 7 retweets of 62 entries - indicates low viral effect
That begs the question: why? I suspect a few things which might result in such a low relative participation:
- Lack of trust - many viewers of the campaign may not trust it. It may have an unfortunate "too good to be true" effect or the message may sound as a sales pitch. The experimental and no-string-attached nature does not come through neccessary from the Twitter message itself.
- Unefficient delivery platform - Twitter may not be the right platform to virally share this kind of giveaways for two reasons. One is that at any given time followers probably pay attention to the top most recent tweets and if one follows hundreds of users, this particular sweepstakes tweet disappears in the "noise", among the more recent messages. In other words, while the population of Twitter is large, one particular message can only reach a small percent of them due to its streaming nature. This is not the case with trending topics, where many people talk about the same issue "on their own", by their own impulse. Second, Twitter following is a weaker relationship than e.g. friendship on Facebook or other more close-knit platforms, hence the trust in a message (i.e. the promotion) shouted out by someone you follow is lower. Lack of trust also means increased transaction cost because one has to investigate the nature and intent of the message which requires efforts.
Change in tactics
We'll stick to Twitter with this campaing for the delivery platform, but rather than hoping that one viral hub, (like this post and a few reblogs), is enough to jump start the viral marketing event, we will focus on increasing the number of visible viral hubs through social bookmarking, announcement through a newsletter to the 14,000+ RealBird members etc. Surprisingly, I sent out some request to high profile real estate blogs for featuring this experiment and got only rejections so far. I suspect that it relates to the "lack of trust" described above as my request may come through as if I asked for free promotion, when in fact, I asked for participation in the experiment and trying to get more people get a chance to win. Again, the message may not reflect correctly that we are giving away an iPod Touch for as little as posting a message for free on Twitter. But since perception is as important in marketing as reality, this is another important lesson to learn from. We'll adjust the message accordingly.

READ HER MIXED SIGNALS
A new study reveals what women want—a helpful man

Dating is a game. And unless you’re winning, chances are you’re sick of playing. But a new study says there’s a reason (and a pretty good one) women play hard to get.
Researchers from the University of Bristol in the U.K. found that the more coy women are, the more helpful men will be. Women play hard to get to see how you’ll behave in different situations. Then they evaluate how willing you would be to help a potential mate in the future.
The technique works best when there is a large number of males to choose from and a mixture of helpful and unhelpful men, according to the study.
So if you want to land your dream girl, shore up your competitive side and prove you’re more worthy than the rest. If she acts uninterested at first, it only means she likes you enough to test your support.
But in the meantime, there’s no harm in upping your chances. Invite her over for dinner, and impress her with a home-cooked meal. Or study the things all women wish men knew to convince her you’re the perfect guy for her.
If she continues sending mixed signals, don’t worry—another new study says time is on your side. Swedish researchers confirmed that women prefer older men. So whether you stay in the dating game or hang out on the sidelines, science says you’ll eventually get the girl—and you can’t argue with science

THE FOODS TO HELP YOU LOSE YOUR GUT
Buy the right groceries, and you'll lose more pounds

You know your way around a football field, boardroom, and bedroom—now it's time you learned to navigate the supermarket.
Selecting the reddest tomatoes, freshest fish, and leanest meats is easy. But if you want to fuel your workouts, boost your metabolism, burn fat, and improve your health, you need a road map for the aisles.
Ignore your kids' begging and steer clear of all cartoon characters. Find a cereal with fiber and protein to fill you up, and not much sugar so you avoid a mid-morning crash.
When you don't have time to make a sandwich for lunch, and you don't want to have fast food, bring a can of soup to work. Just watch the sodium so you don't give yourself a heart attack.
Don't feel like making your own pasta sauce? Buy a red sauce or alfredo that tastes like it cooked all day—but won't take an all-day workout to burn off.
And you don't have to stick to just frozen veggies in the freezer aisle. Pick the best French fries, ice cream—even Fudgsicles are a good treat.
Finally, the snack aisle: Go ahead and grab a bag of chips and box of cookies. A successful trip to the grocery deserves a reward.
For more great picks, check out the 125 best foods for men. And be sure to order your copy of Eat This, Not That! Supermarket Survival Guide (on sale December 30) today.

CASUAL SEX
A new study reveals the most promiscuous places on earth

Maybe it’s the accent. Maybe it’s the James Bond effect. Whatever the reason, there’s definitely some serious mojo across the pond.
In an international index that measured one-night stands, Britain tops the list, while the United States falls in fifth place behind Germany, the Czech Republic, and Australia. Taiwan rated the lowest.
The study was overseen by David Schmitt, a professor of psychology at Bradley University in Illinois (we want his job). He says industrialized western nations topped the list because residents are more willing to accept promiscuity among both women and men.
But what we want to know is: How can we do it like the Brits—without faking an accent?
When Men’s Health conducted our own international sex survey (the U.K. came out on top in our report, too), we found the best sex tips in the world to help you satisfy like our international brethren.
Here are some highlights of what Americans should be doing: Start foreplay before her clothes come off, arouse all five senses, and last longer in bed.
Trust us, soon you’ll be shagging like a bloody genius.

EAT MORE TURKEY
Skip the lines and live a longer, pain-free life with these tools

We know what you had for dinner yesterday. And chances are, you're still full.
But give it a few hours and you’ll have two more things to be thankful for: a fridge full of leftovers and countless healthy ways to eat them (and not one of them involves reliving your Thanksgiving feast).
Use odds and ends in lighter fare like autumn salads, turkey sandwiches, or tasty pumpkin ravioli. Gravy and casseroles expire after one or two days, but you can count on cooked turkey and meat dishes for three to five. Anything you want to hold on to longer than that goes in the freezer.
When it’s time to reheat, don’t zap plastic containers in the microwave. Bisphenol A, or BPA—a chemical used to make plastic hard—leaches into food and drinks at high temperatures. And a recent study found that people with the highest levels of BPA are almost three times more likely to experience cardiovascular disease and almost 2 1/2 times more likely to have Type 2 diabetes than people with the lowest levels. So unless the container is labeled “microwave-safe,” heat your leftovers on a plate.
Thanksgiving may be over, but the holiday season—the season of temptation—is just beginning. Plan ahead to stay on top of your workout, wherever the season takes you.

GIFT YOURSELF AN AMAZING BODY
Skip the lines and live a longer, pain-free life with these tools

The madness begins tomorrow: Even with the economy sagging, retailers expect to see growth in holiday shopping this year—forecasts predict the average American will spend $832.36 on gifts this winter, and most will spend a hefty chunk tomorrow, the biggest shopping day of the year.
Our advice: Skip Black Friday, use our 10 tips to spend less on your gifts, and use the savings to reward yourself with these four at-home fitness essentials.
1. A medicine ball. Whether you use it to try the UNC Tar Heels workout or to work out holiday stress by slamming it against the floor, this muscle-building tool is a steal at less than $20.
2. A foam roller. How much would you pay for a tool that can ease aching feet, knees, backs, and hips, and is a barometer for the quality of your muscle and connective tissue? (How about 10 bucks?)
3. A heart rate monitor. Doing cardio without one is like lifting weights without knowing how much you’ve stacked on the bar—you can’t precisely measure your gains, meaning you don't know if your workout is a complete waste.
4. A blender. Sweat all you want, but fit bodies are made in the kitchen, not the gym. And your secret weapon’s the smoothie—you can pack muscle-building, mind-boosting, fat-burning benefits into a delicious glass that’s packed with nutrients. Use our smoothie selector to find the perfect one for every time of day, check out these recipes submitted by MH readers, or enjoy a Thanksgiving treat: the pumpkin pie smoothie.
PACK ON POUNDS (OF MUSCLE) ON THANKSGIVING

PACK ON POUNDS (OF MUSCLE) ON THANKSGIVING
Fit in a few workouts on your days off for your fitness, health, and sanity
A few days off from work doesn't mean you should take your place on the couch and watch TV every day. Continuing to work out over the Thanksgiving holiday will help you maintain your fitness gains, combat stress, and burn off all that pumpkin pie.
Make it easy on yourself, especially if you're traveling: Try this 15-minute, bodyweight workout. You can do it anywhere, even in the tiniest of hotel rooms. Or use this fast, total-body routine to solidify your core.
You may think a no-weights workout isn't challenging, but if you follow these five laws, you'll see better results that you would pumping out bench presses.
Have access to a Swiss ball and chinup bar? (Or good substitutes?) Then use the Belly Off! no-gym classic workout. It'll send your metabolism soaring, meaning you'll burn off your turkey faster.
Or head outside for another equipment-free workout: intervals. You can burn three times as much fat going hard then easing up than you can running at one a speed—meaning a little indulgence won't make you feel so guilty.
If you prefer to hit the weights, use our Gym Finder to locate a gym in that middle-of-nowhere burg your in-laws live in. Download some workouts before you leave so you can hit every body part on different days. Bonus: You get to escape the house—and their nagging.

When Bigger Isn't Better

Men seem to have bad perception. Lots of us think we're smaller than we really are.
And that doesn't just negatively impact our bedroom performance: Many guys fool themselves into thinking they're in good shape, and therefore don't work out and instead continue chowing down on cheese fries.
A new Australian study found that more than 60 percent of men were clinically overweight, but only half of these guys perceived themselves that way.
If you think you're fit, you're more likely to skip the gym and not make efforts to keep your weight on track. And you know obesity has been linked to a slew of health problems: cancer, diabetes, heart disease, early death, and more.
Think you're not overweight? Test yourself: Measure your waist-to-hip ratio. Surprised by the results? Then try our Power Training program—whether you have 2, 3, or 4 days a week to work out, you can add muscle, burn of fat, and get back in shape.
And the best thing about being smaller around the waist? You look larger below the belt.
Give Yourself a Hand All Month Long

We weren't quite sure how to react when our sex editor told us this, but it's true: May is National Masturbation Month. (Start stocking up on porn now.) Good Vibrations deemed it so in 1995 to raise awareness and emphasize the importance of masturbation.
You probably know by now that it won't make you go blind, grow hair on your palms, or have your member fall off. In fact, masturbation is great for you, health-wise and sex-wise.
A 2003 Australian study found that men who ejaculated more than five times a week were a third less likely to develop prostate cancer. Sexual intercourse doesn't provide the same benefit, researchers say, because it puts you at risk of contracting a sexually transmitted infection.
And regular wanking can help you overcome PE by training yourself to last longer. (No, we don't know a recommended number of sets and reps. Sorry.)
She's probably paddling the pink canoe herself. Rest assured that her sex toys will never replace you. In fact, you should be happy she goes solo--women who do so are more likely to orgasm during intercourse and oral sex.
According to a poll we conducted, 80 percent of women want to touch themselves while you watch. Bring up the idea to her (tell her you read it in magazine), and see if she's game. You'll learn how she likes it and pick up some moves to try when her hand is tired.
Or try stimulating each other. She'll learn what you like, and it turns her on.
So celebrate National Masturbation Month unabashedly, solo, with a Playmate, or with your partner. Just don't go overboard. After all, you don't want a hand cramp, and nothing beats sex.
Secret Soviet Muscle Food

The cartoon sailor was right: Spinach really does help build muscle.
A new study shows the phytoecdysteroids from spinach sped growth of human muscle cells by up to 20 percent. Rats injected with the extract for a month were also stronger, and had increased grip strength.
Muscle-building ecdysteroids are found in a variety of forms in nature--from insects to plants--but spinach is the only edible source.
But take note: The human cell study was conducted by treating samples of muscle tissue with the chemical—not by feeding people spinach. The team estimates that humans would have to eat more than 2.2 lb (one kilogram) of raw spinach every day to see results. “You could eat 5 kilos of spinach and it might not have these effects, we just don’t know,” says lead researcher Ilya Raskin, from Rutgers University, New Jersey.
While the muscle-building effects of spinach aren't certain, Raskin said this isn't the first time the question has been raised: “This goes back to literature from the former Soviet Union that showed these compounds have [muscle-building] anabolic effects,” says Raskin. “They tested the chemical in the 60s and 70s for military applications, for sports, for space, they were interested in things that make people stronger. I don’t know about the quality of those studies, but they were done.”
Secret military applications of spinach? Interesting.
So we couldn't help but wonder: If you could get the strength of a sailor and the power of Sputnik, how much spinach would you be willing to eat?

Lights, Gas or Food? Sacramentans Faced With Tough Choices
For many, paying utilities is no longer a necessity but an option."That is exactly what it was down to. It was either me buying groceries or paying the gas bill. I chose to buy groceries," said Peggy Kastanis who lives in a small apartment in Sacramento's midtown.
The utility company eventually shut off her heat. "I didn't realize that we were going to have a few more cold days and I spent some pretty cold days over here since it was turned off, but by then I had already made the decision."
Gloria Martinez is a customer advisor for Home Energy Assistance Program or HEAP which helps utility customers pay their energy and gas bills.
So far this year roughly 4,000 families asked for help. "It's crazy. The families are having to make a choice whether they put gas in their cars or food."
Nationwide, six million people have gone to federal grant programs like HEAP for help to pay their utility bills.

Blog Advise;Scam Alert II:Domain Hijacking
There are a number of ways the "game" is played. The first is entirely legal, if more than a little questionable. In this version, the name of a city or geographic area is grabbed by a domain squatter and pointed to... "sites that you wouldn't want your children visiting."
(We chose that term to avoid getting caught in a lot of sp@m filters for the use of the word "p-o-rn.")
A prominent notice is placed on the sites, offering them for sale at prices that range from $2500 to as much as $500,000!
The idea here is that city officials will feel that enough damage is being done to the reputations of their towns that they'll pay to keep them from being associated with that type of material.
It's obviously safe to say that it's not appropriate to pop those kinds of images into people's faces while they're looking for info on a completely different topic.
That's where the pressure on the cities comes from, and why this is such a disgusting scheme.
In essence, the domain squatter says: "Pay us, or continue to watch as your city's reputation suffers."
Many would call this blackmail...
The second variation on the theme is not always legal. When someone takes a trademarked name (or variation of the spelling of one) or a famous person's name, and does the same thing.
For trademarks or close variations, there's a specific procedure for addressing the problem. (See the resource section at the end of this issue.)
For the names of famous people, there MAY be a remedy. But, it can be tricky -- and expensive.
For example, if someone named John Jones registered http://WalterCronkite.com and pointed it to one of "those" sites, Walter Cronkite could probably force the domain away from him.
However, if someone named Steve Cronkite registered http://Cronkite.com and did the same thing, Walter Cronkite would have no recourse. It would be very hard to demonstrate that Steve registered the domain in bad faith. And if Steve's son's name is Walter, the same is true for http://WalterCronkite.com
If you feel that your name is likely to be typed into a browser when people are looking for information on you, you should consider getting both the .com and .net versions of the domain if they're available.
It will cost you a few bucks to prevent the problem. Fixing it, assuming you win, will cost you hundreds -- if not thousands -- of dollars.
And there's no guarantëe you'll win.
A third version is a bit more benign. It's common among members of affilíate programs. In this version, names very close to, or even including, the trademark are registered. The sites are created to drive traffíc to the affiliates' URL at the main site.
This may or may not be acceptable to the affilíate program owner. If it is, it's a good technique for getting traffíc. If not, it could get you into hot water. Chëck with the owner of the trademark before doing this. Less benign is an alternative version of this technique where someone grabs domain names that are close to the trademark of a competitor and uses them to grab competitor type-in traffíc. This is often done by finding out the most common misspellings of the real domain name or trademark. Watch for people doing this with your domain. Here's the worst version of this -- and it can hit anyone if they have enough traffíc and don't pay close attention to when their domain registrations expire.
In this situation, someone grabs expired domain names and points them to "those" kinds of sites. This is a "no löse" for the hijacker, as they will profít from the traffíc even if the previous owner doesn't pay the requested ransom for the domain.
The more traffíc the URL gets, the greater the clickthrough value to the hijacker. This means more potential damage to the original owner -- and a higher ransom to get it back.
In effect, your own popularity is your worst enemy in this case.
The solution to this one is simple -- and very important: Don't let your domain names expire!

Mom's Top 10 Steps To A Good Online Reputation
2। Make Eye Contact: Just like in the real world, wallflowers don't get noticed. The wallflower is most likely an incredible resource – it's just that nobody knows her because she doesn't put herself out there. Be a participant by commenting, inviting, giving. Show up at your new neighbor's door with a gift. It always goes over well – just remember to button your blouse.
3। You Are a Reflection of Your Mother (Company): Nobody likes a poorly kept lawn except the lazy bum that lives behind it. Maintain your public face on the social networks, shine your shoes, crease your pants, embrace your OCD. It may not be your homepage, but it is a home away from home. Maintaining several of these online presences is work, but so is business.
4। Keep An Open Mind: There's an appropriate cliché for every situation – all your eggs in one basket comes to mind here – but I prefer my grandfather's chestnut: "You drove your ducks to a damn poor market." Poetic, that man was. For a long time it was search, search, search. Before that it was email, email, email. But now you need to integrate your campaign. Search is a staple, a pillar of your online campaign, but we also know that Wikipedia ranks consistently number one in the SERPs. That means you need a Wikipedia page, too. Note: YouTube also ranks well.
5। Become Necessary: Viral marketing is tricky, difficult business. But maybe it doesn't have to be. Maybe if you realign your approach to reflect what you, as an individual enjoy, instead of being a salesperson, you can find a more intuitive connection with what the public wants to see. It's often been said that a salesman sells himself more than the product. So if you want to make linkbait, think about what would cause you to bite first. If you look at your viral attempt and see more corporate talking points than linkable material, it's time for a do-over.
6. Like the People that Like You (Even If You Think They're Annoying): Barack Obama's campaign people did something brilliant, and followed up with something not so brilliant. That makes it a great case study. An Obama fan set up a MySpace page and soon attracted thousands of friends। Instead of competing with his biggest fan, Obama endorsed the site as the official MySpace campaign headquarters. That was the brilliant part. After the page "got too big" for the original operator, the campaign crew took staged a coup to wrest control of the page from their biggest fan. That was the not so brilliant part, even if politics is mean by nature.
7. Watch Your Mouth: Again with the clichés that still hold true – if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all. Steve Rubel learned the hard way that stream-of-consciousness blogging can have you saying something you wish you hadn’t। Transparency doesn't mean total access.
8. Don't Be a Fake: Who do we dislike most in civilized society (aside from the violent)? Liars, cheats, and thieves. We don't like them because we view them as betrayers. That principle applies online, too, when your network discovers you're not what you say you are. And the mob's wrath is one that is hard to endure. Ask Edelman PR about their Wal-Marting Across America campaign।
9। Mind Your Manners: Mom's favorite Bible verse still applies: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Commonly referred to as the Golden Rule on Earth, in Cyberspace, manners and etiquette are becoming increasingly more important. People are getting angry about anonymous drive-by (rude) commentary, salesy and useless comment spam (spam in general constitutes harassment in some form)…the list of ethics and etiquette violations is a long one, so it's probably best to ask yourself: Would I appreciate this if it were done to me?
10। Stay Hip. Right now, MySpace, Facebook, Wikipedia, and YouTube are essential, but they're still relatively new. Few really saw SecondLife coming as a virtual marketplace. Still yet, only the early adopters are talking about Twitter. But change online is swift, and the smart marketer keeps up with what's hot. The last thing you want to do is look outdated. Just don't sell out your core identity in the process.
While that's just ten guidelines out of many, Mom always had one rule that ruled them all: Use your head, dodo bird! This is a thinking man's game। Indeed it is. Good luck with your campaigns.

Fake IRS Sites?
With the annual US “tax day” of April 15 rapidly approaching, the Internal Revenue Service blasted the owners of several Web sites that advertise tax preparation services। Why? The IRS’ official site uses the URL http://www.irs.gov, while commercial vendors have taken over the .com, .org and .net variants. The IRS feels some taxpayers could become confused, and end up paying unnecessarily for services offered free of charge on the government’s site.
The IRS assertion is not wholly without merit, since many people are accustomed to using ।com when visiting corporate Web sites and may not notice they’re not on a government site। The http://www।irs.com site, while sporting a small disclaimer clearly stating that it is not the government’s Web presence, uses a US flag logo and sports a red, white, and blue motif that could easily trap the unwary. Additionally, the repeated use of the “IRS” acronym is relatively deceptive in some respects, especially since it appears to stand for nothing in particular. One link on the site takes the user to a page of other links, all of which point to private tax preparation companies. By way of contrast, the operators of the http://www.irs.org and http://www.irs.net sites use vastly different design layouts; one clearly states in large type that the site is privately operated and offers a link to the official government site, while the other fails to mention either of these caveats. Is this deceptive practice, or is it a legitimate means of doing business?
In a way, the answer to both questions is yes, but with the qualification that such quasi-deceptive business methods are not confined to Internet marketers. Nearly everyone has received official looking envelopes, often marked with “Official Business,” “Penalty for Private Use,” or other important looking logos, only to open them and discover a sales pitch for a credit card or financial services company. A few go too far, and include paperwork that leads readers to the false conclusion that failure to act will result in legal penalties.
Similarly, quasi legal charity groups operate using both Internet and more traditional contact methods. An elderly relative regularly receives phone calls soliciting money for groups claiming to represent Native Americans, homeless children, disabled persons, and others. I’ve checked into several of these groups, only to find questionable fundraising practices and deceptive techniques. In some cases, no such charity could be found on a list of known, registered groups.
What we’re seeing today is the migration of long-used tactics of deception to an electronic format. Just as chain letters, hoaxes, and urban legends made the transition from hand-written paper to Xerox, then to fax, and finally to e-mail, other questionable practices are following suit. It’s no surprise, but it’s another reason to be careful when using Internet-based resources for personal business. The convenience of electronically submitting official forms far outweighs any potential hazards, but make sure you’re on the right site before you provide any personally identifying data.

Don't Get Scammed

I spent the next 3 months trying almost every business opportunity online and off. I was scammed by many different "get rich quick schemes" and I lost thousands. Everyone of these so called money making programs all said the same thing "they were going to help me make a lot of money with out having any experience" I was in the position where I had to create an income quick, I had no other choice. Even though I thought most of these programs were probably scams I tried them anyway because I knew that if just one of these programs worked for me that is all it would take.
Out of all the programs I tried, many were complete scams that just took my money. I have found 2 programs that actual work. I am going to give you an honest review of the 2 programs that work. Although you might not make money as fast as they say you will, you will make money if you follow their steps. Below is my brutally honest opinion about each program. If you are looking at any other program besides these two you are most likely wasting your time, because I have tried so many and these are the only 2 that work. Now I have finally gotten to earn some money on the internet (you can see my check above). I certify the earnings are 100% accurate and valid.
