Buy the right groceries, and you'll lose more pounds

You know your way around a football field, boardroom, and bedroom—now it's time you learned to navigate the supermarket.
Selecting the reddest tomatoes, freshest fish, and leanest meats is easy. But if you want to fuel your workouts, boost your metabolism, burn fat, and improve your health, you need a road map for the aisles.
Ignore your kids' begging and steer clear of all cartoon characters. Find a cereal with fiber and protein to fill you up, and not much sugar so you avoid a mid-morning crash.
When you don't have time to make a sandwich for lunch, and you don't want to have fast food, bring a can of soup to work. Just watch the sodium so you don't give yourself a heart attack.
Don't feel like making your own pasta sauce? Buy a red sauce or alfredo that tastes like it cooked all day—but won't take an all-day workout to burn off.
And you don't have to stick to just frozen veggies in the freezer aisle. Pick the best French fries, ice cream—even Fudgsicles are a good treat.
Finally, the snack aisle: Go ahead and grab a bag of chips and box of cookies. A successful trip to the grocery deserves a reward.
