Weather Story for Missoula,MT

Snow will briefly impact the region starting in northwest Montana this evening and southward through the rest of Montana and Idaho overnight. Wind and snow will combine for a short period of time especially on mountain passes to create a short period of impacted travel conditions overnight. Snow will become light or decrease entirely through Monday morning.

A strong storm system is expected to form off the pacific northwest early next week and move in to the Northern Rockies on Wednesday. Widespread snow is expected to fall throughout western Montana. The storm is expected to move out of the area by Wednesday night allowing skies to clear. Temperatures will cool rapidly due to the snow cover and clearing skies.
